RA-EL & THE NAME “ISRAEL”
2 Chronicles 7:14 (JPS) “If My people, upon whom My name is called, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
The Hebrew meanings of the name Israel are: “Triumphant with God", or "Who prevails with God”.
Breaking down the name ISRAEL into Hebrew words:
Israel = ישראל
Existence = יש
Straight / Honest = ישר
God / To = אל
Rael = ראל
Honest God = ישר אל
Existence Rael = יש ראל
Ezekiel 39:7 (ESV) “And my holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. And the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.”
The Holy Name within the name Israel is Ra-El.
IS-RA-EL also has more ancient roots than its Hebrew origins; it is important to note that Moses was raised as an Egyptian prince and he wrote the first 5 books of the Bible.
In etymology, Is-Ra-El refers to the Egyptian Gods Isis and Ra, and the Canaanite God El.
ISis – A goddess in ancient Egypt and means “the throne.” She was the mother nurturer - the High Priestess - the Goddess of Creation.
RA – A God in ancient Egypt and means “mouth” or “speech” — The Spoken Word.
EL – The Hebrew God and originates from the ancient God Enlil/Ellil.
